Leadwork Skills and Loose Lead Walking – April/May 2025

Add the joy back into lead walks with your dog!

Join us for a 4-week course entirely dedicated to all the skills you’ll need to make lead walks with your dog an enjoyable experience for you both. 

Loose lead walking and leadwork skills are an essential part of your training toolkit, giving you the freedom to enjoy more places with your dog and taking the stress out of your everyday walks. Whether you have a young dog that is struggling on early walks or an older dog that pulls and drags you around when on the lead, this course is ideal for you. 

START DATE: 
Monday 28th April 2025, 6pm (for 4 consecutive weeks) at Bracknell Rugby Club

The course will cover:

  • Why dogs pull and how it is accidentally reinforced in everyday life
  • Lead walking equipment and how this impacts your walks
  • Teaching your dog to walk under close control (e.g. for crossing roads)
  • Skills for turns and changes of direction in heelwork
  • Equipping your dog with an understanding of responding to light lead pressure
  • Teaching your dog to enjoy enrichment walks without dragging you to every sniff
  • Creating a desire for your dog to give you natural attention even around distractions
  • Managing your dog’s emotions in real world situations
  • Tools and tricks such as pattern games to walk past distractions

The course is suitable for dogs of any breed and any age that have already completed some basic training with Click-2-Heel. 


The cost for the training course is £90 for 4 weeks. All materials and equipment are provided. Joining instructions and payment methods will be sent prior to the course start date.
