Gundog Introductory Workshops – April and May 2025

Harness your dog’s instinct to find, flush and retrieve!

Join us for 2-hour introductory workshop as we introduce you to the fascinating world of Gundog Training. Gundog training harnesses the natural instincts of working breeds in their desire to find, flush and retrieve prey. Behind this specialist canine job are many core foundations useful to dogs of every breed and age in their everyday lives. From impulse control and leadwork to settle and focus, the course is packed with essential skills for your dog. Whether you have a young gundog breed that you’d like to work in future in the gundog world, or a dog of any breed that enjoys learning something new, then this workshop is ideal for you.

You will learn:

  • About the principles and practices of gundog training.
  • Hunting games to build into your walks.
  • How your dog’s natural instincts work and how to harness these.
  • To motivate and train your dog using both food and toy rewards.
  • To improve your dog’s impulse control, self-control and focus.
  • About the role of whistle cues and introducing the stop whistle.
  • To build your dog’s ability in anticipatory stillness.
  • To communicate directions using body language.

The workshop is suitable for dogs of any breed that are at least 8 months of age and have already completed some basic training with Click-2-Heel. 

Choose between:
Sunday 20th April at 11am or Saturday 24th May at 11am

The cost for the workshop is £60. Joining instructions and payment methods will be sent prior to the course start date.
