Muscle conditioning, Body awareness, Prevention and Rehabilitation

Kinetics is a course for helping your dog to build good core muscular strength and balance. The classes provide mental challenge and are physically tiring as your dog may be asked to use muscles he may not be used to using. The course will have a positive effect on your dog's movement, balance, flexibility, health and well-being so is particularly good for:

  • Young dogs to build strength, flexibility and confidence
  • Dogs actively involved (or going to be) in competitive sports
  • Dogs asked to do repetitive actions e.g. ball throwing
  • Dogs who need good structured exercise to build muscle after corrective treatment
  • Dogs with previous injuries to strengthen and build muscle balance
  • Maintaining a good core strength and muscle balance reducing the risk of soft tissue injuries

The course involves balance exercises which promote co-ordination, spatial awareness and deep muscle strengthening. While the class does not involve obedience or agility, it does help to build an understanding relationship, teaching the dog to calmly engage in exercises that it doesn’t usually get asked to do and it helps generally with lead walking.
